PREPARATION

  1. Assemble all Soaking Necessities
  2. Place Horse in Cross-Ties
  3. Clean Horse Hoof of excess mud & debris
  4. MIX SOLUTION

    1. Measure One Half Gallon of Water ( 1/2 gallon )
    2. Heat Water with Heating Element
      Tip: Water should be Hot, but Not Too Hot. If you can’t stand the temperature, neither can your horse.
    3. Measure One Cup * ( 1 cup ) of Epson Salts or preferred blend* (or amount recommended by Veterinarian)
    4. Dissolve Salts in Heated Water.

    FILL & INSERT HOOF – Options

    1. Open Giddyap Girls SoakingBoot® and Fill with Heated & Mixed Soaking Solution
    2. Insert Horse Hoof

    Another Option

    1. Open Giddyap Girls SoakingBoot® and Insert Hoof.
    2. Fill Slowly with Heated & Mixed Soaking Solution. (Be sure not to pour the heated solution directly on horses leg as Hot Water may cause injury)

    CLOSE BOOT BY SECURING VELCROW WRAP-AROUND & VELCROW STRAP

    Close Giddyap Girls SoakingBoot® in WrapAround manner. Velcro will fold in place around leg.

    SOAK FOR 10-20 MINUTES OR AS NEEDED

    1. Use the Control Strap to Hold Giddyap Girls SoakingBoot® in place if Horse lifts leg.
    2. Do Not Leave your Horse Unattended.
    3. Use this as Bonding Time; touching, caressing, and ‘speaking’ with your Horse.
    4. You may want to give Positive Encouragement to your horse by giving Giddyap Girl® Premium Horse Treats during the Soaking procedure.

    REMOVE BOOT

    1. Detach Velcro and ‘Open’ Giddyap Girls SoakingBoot®.
    2. Use the Control Strap to Hold in Place and Move Hand Down Horses’s Leg, Encourage Horse to Lift their Hoof/Leg out of Giddyap Girls SoakingBoot®.
    3. Dress Hoof as required or as recommended by Veterinarian.

    RINSE & STORAGE OF SMARTBOOT

    1. Rinse both Inside and Outside of Giddyap Girls SoakingBoot®.
    2. Comfort Disk can be Removed for Cleaning.
    3. Hang Upside Down to Dry using the handy hook at bottom of Giddyap Girls SoakingBoot®
    4. Giddyap Girls SoakingBoot® Can Be Turned Inside-Out for a More Through Cleaning and Drying.
    5. Boot should be Completely Dry before Storage

    REPEAT DAILY

    Soaking may be Required for a Minimum of Seven (7) Days.

    *Suggested Ratio of Salt & Water Mixture is a Generally Accepted Solution Percentage. Your Horse’s needs may require an increase or decrease in Solution Ratio. Consult your Veterinarian before undertaking any First Aid procedures.
